Mission Statement
Model United Nations gives students the opportunity to simulate the real UN by exposing them to real life global issues. In MUN, each person represents a country, and we work together to come up with resolutions to the global conflicts. With topics ranging from environmental issues to economic problems, the MUN club has topics that appeal to a variety of interests. MUN is also a great opportunity for people who want to improve their public speaking skills. Commitment Level MUN is one of the few clubs that goes on all year round, and so for that reason, we do expect members to be very committed. While we understand that it is impossible to make it to every meeting, we need members to show up regularly because the only way to get better at MUN and to get to travel on conferences is by practicing. MUN is a club where students can get together to debate and then find solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing our world today. MUN truly makes students in to global citizens, by forcing them to consider problems from different viewpoints. Additionally, MUN provides students with many opportunities to attend local conferences, as well as travel internationally to countries such as France, Portugal, Russia and Ireland in order to attend international conferences. No experience is needed to join the club! Meetings are held every Monday from 3:00 - 4:30 in Mr. Rodgers' room.
